Freestanding Signs

Freestanding signs are designed to be self-supporting structures that stand on their own without being attached to a building or any other structure. Freestanding signs can vary in size from smaller monument style signs up high-rise style signs although their purpose is the same which is to attract attention, provide locality, and convey information to the passersby.

Monument and Pylon signs are the most common in this category. Pylon signs are typically taller and more vertical, often exceeding heights of 15 feet or more, while monument signs are shorter and more horizontal, usually 15 feet in height or less. Pylon signs are designed to be seen from a distance and are often used for businesses that are located along highways or major roads, while monument signs are more suitable for businesses that are situated in urban areas or near intersections.

Outside or the previously mentioned sign styles, high-rise are the king of the freestanding sign category. High-rise signs are just that…tall. High-rise signs are intended to be seen from a long ways off and are often suitable for highway interchanges. High-rise signs can be 75 feet in height or greater.
